This special meeting is another variation of cooperation of Zaradny and Piotrowicz with the vienese experimental/improv scene. Dafeldecker, Dieb13, Siewert and Stangl have been cooperating with their polish partners on both fields of presenting and playing music. And this is the main reason of the night, as well as small surprise concerning on polish delicates." (Zaradny/Piotrowicz) About Anna Zaradny & Robert Piotrowicz: Anna Zaradny – classicaly trained saxophone player, absolvent of Music Academy. She uses her studies on the field of improvised and experimental music. The instrument is open, organic possibility, she is searching for new sonic approaches. Zaradny works with extendent technics etc. Anna Zaradny chooses also the way of computer, electronic music. By this she easly deals with digital noise and new electronica. Last period of art activity Zaradny dedicated to cooperation with theatre groups, she composes and produces music for theatre. Together with this she works also on multimedia projects, sound installations which are based on collaboration with photographers, architects etc. Zaradny as improviser works usually with Robert Piotrowicz, especially focuses on trio formed together with Burkhard Stangl. She works/worked also with: Tony Buck, John Butcher, John Hegre, Jacek Majewski, Joe Williamson etc. She played in Europe (France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Holand, Czech, Austria, Slovenia, Greece, Croatia) and USA. Participation in such festivals as: Audio Art Festiwal, Muzyka z Mózgu, In Beetwen Chicago, Jazz in E., Copenhagen Jazz Festiwal, Jazz en Gatineite. Together with Robert Piotrowicz she runs record label Musica Genera, which organises International Festival of Improvised and Experimental Music Musica Genera Festival. photographs by anna zaradny, vienna © 2005 Robert Piotrowicz - he treats guitar as a sound source, to play he uses bow, metal, engine etc. In the same time he is deeply working with electronics, especially exploring analog modular synth, radios. Together with improvisation based on collaboration with other musicians in the past he is also focused on his solo recordings. He collaborates and played tours etc with well known improvisers including: John Butcher, Tony Buck, Xavier Charles, Kevin Drumm, John Hegre (with BRU SATA), Jerome Noetinger etc.. He ussually works in combined setups with Anna Zaradny. He is not limited by music only, he works with the well known film maker and musicians Martin Klapper. He also worked with sound instalations, and music to screens and movie, theatre. Concerts and festivals in Europe and US.
